SSS13 - Warabrook

Felt weak from the get-go, which translated into feeling sick in the stomach about 4kms in. For a while I thought I was going to end up horizontal in the streets of Warabrook! Needless to say I wasnt happy with my result. Some very good results on the board when I left though, and I enjoyed the course despite myself.
If anyone is interested in joining Nathan Archer and Myself (Greg Wright) for the Paddy Pallin Adventure Race, Canberra on Feb 13, get in touch - greg at wc.net dot au |

Warabrook Routegadget
when you enter your route don't forget to turn <Snap> off before you leave the start, and then turn it on to finish. If you do end up with a route that just goes from start to finish Verrrrry slowwwllllyyyyy, enter your route again, (you can use the same name etc) & I will remove the slow route later.

yoda | Posted: 22 January 2010, 12:27 PM [NZ Time] Does this routegadget issue apply to GPS, manually entered or both? How do we know if we are affected? |
footprints | Posted: 22 January 2010, 2:09 PM [NZ Time] As far as I know it only applies to manual entry - you will see if the route you entered is OK if you run the animation after you have finished the entry.
It is possible to fix a problem route by editting the route file on Routegadget, but it needs administrator access to the host server - I don't have that, so if you make a mistake just re-enter your route & I will delete the dodgy one.
When we get to the bush events with a line course this issue will be less important, as the route will snap to each control in order. |
leepback | Posted: 22 January 2010, 3:07 PM [NZ Time] Still struggling with not feeling great and had to do a lot of walking. Seems like I run 100-200m and then walk for 40-50m.
Went around uni part first as I didn't want to have to be commited to that loop on the way back. Preferred to have more options on the way back but even though I did have, I still overdid it and managed to lose 2 points, both while crossing the bridge.
Nice event set by Malcolm and it was sort of pleasant running around this area event though I was stuffed for the most part.

o_grub | Posted: 22 January 2010, 4:42 PM [NZ Time] Back from injury after a month off running (torn calf at Valentine)so started steadily, sped up a bit through the middle then faded in the last third due to lack of training. Went obvious route of Uni first. I knew how far it was over the bridge to come home as I didn't read the program carefully enough and drove and parked on the Warrabrook side but was still 40secs late. Great varied area and the map is definitely worth upgrading with a bit more detail in the uni and the park area of Warrabrook. |
