Driving in reminded me of last time's struggle to return up slight incline + New Year's resolution not to be late (much) so intended to be conservative in route choice. Popular starting route choice of 1R,1M,3G,2F,1F,3E,2E,3F,3C then reduction time ditching "excess" controls 1B,1D,1A and just collecting 2A with 2:30ish to spare. Pleased with that but even more so with good showing against footprints, Louise and a few others. Looked at a few other alternatives without much gain in points and certainly a bit more running so happy.
Thanks to Nigel and family for Admin and course - first up after a break, it had our attention.

I have a question relating to the map for Beresfield. In person you could run from 1A or 2A around the corner and down to the bottom of the map, on the map there is a gap but out in the street the fenceline was right there and easily accessible. I chose to jump the fence and run around the path behind to reach 2B.

My question is: Is that considered unacceptable. I can see that many did not run to 2C where the map incorrectly showed a dead end. Was that because its not acceptable to utilise routes if the map doesnt specifically show it as available?

Appreciate the 'heads up' anyone might be able to offer with regard to this. The map says private property OR out of bounds (from memory) but the way I saw it, it would have been only 1m of out of bounds, and I assumed the map to have neglected to mark the cul-de-sac correctly?

Yoda....please bring last weeks map to your next event (today?) and discus with Geoff Peel & Malcolm Roberts.

It's a bit hard to discuss the a precise details of this example here.

The main reason we have out of bounds areas is to stop any complaints from residents and landowners so the best course of action is "if in doubt go another way"

In general if the map is marked as OOB then it is probably dodgy to go that way. Having said that, the street that didn't connect to the main road was a problem created by the slip of the cursor and was totally obvious to those that were there and definately not private property.

As I said bring that map along and have a chat so that we can rectify the map if it is incorrect or misrepresentational.

Thanks
