After the heat of the week, then the rain of the previous 48 hours, the weather was ideal for a bush event - dry with the temperature in the high teens. The only downside was this combination also brought out a bumper number of leaches. There was a good turnout of orienteer despite it being the middle of the school holidays as well as a long weekend. With it being a minor event Robert Preston started to help get everybody's mind into the summer street series mode by setting a score course in place of the harder courses. Total Competitors: 56 Full resutls on the Newcastle web site at http://newcastle.nsw.orienteering.socialfx.net/gfolder/events/2008Bush/Bush_20081005.html
