As usual I felt fairly ordinary before I started, weak, unsteady etc, but hoped I’d feel OK once started. This was the case but I did feel very light headed after I had finished. On course I ran OK for me, probably a reflection of having had a few runs during the East Coast Orienteering Tour that travelled thru VIC, ACT & NSW. When running I moved at a reasonable speed but had to resort to little walks during the 45 minutes. A bit disappointed to be back late losing 2 points on the first run so I’m probably well out of the time management category already. I just overestimated my coverage in the last ten minutes. Basic route choice was to cover a lot of the northern section ignoring the wrong side of the tracks controls and then head south allowing plenty of return options. OK but in hindsight maybe should have done more in the flatter southern parts. My route was; 2F, 1J, 2J, 3C, 2C, 2A, 1C, 1D, 3B, 2B, 1F, 2D, 1E, 2E, 1H, 2H, 1L, 3E, 2K for 34-2= 32 points in 46:53 Looked like a good turn out but had to leave early for another function so could not get an accurate assessment of numbers or how I faired overall (perhaps middle of the bunch). Clues I visited were well constructed and obvious so well done Glenn. Wondering if Steveo, JoshyB or Alex or other speedsters went close to collecting the lot.
